We are Human Connexion

Consider the shirt you're wearing, the shoes on your feet, the chair you're lounging in, or the cup cradled in your hands.

How many hands touched that item before it became an indispensable part of your daily rhythm? How much dedication, effort, and care went into transforming a mere idea into a tangible product that now enriches your life?

Picture the collaboration, the logistics, the craftsmanship, and the negotiations required to bring each piece together, all serving a greater purpose in your hands.

Yet, how often do we pause to acknowledge the humans behind these cherished possessions? Do we take a moment to appreciate the journey from creation to consumption, beyond the transactional realm of purchase and delivery?

We aim to carve out a space where the artist's narrative finds its voice, fostering a deeper bond between the physical products and the individuals who crafted them.

The Artisans

Our mission is to be a catalyst for artisans who may not have access to scale their business beyond their local market.  To share generational products that have unique stories through the histories and culture of the humans that created them.

Betza

“I started to make pottery since I could walk,” Betza remembers. “I remember playing with clay while my mom was working, and little by little I started creating my own designs.” Her mother made clay pots and sold them, but as she began facing health challenges she had to come up with something that would be easier for her to carry and make with less difficulty, and this is how their smaller pieces came to be. Betza continues making a living by following in her mother’s footsteps in her hometown of Santa María Atzompa, Oaxaca, where the clay technique can be traced all the way to the pre-Columbian era. “It’s exciting to see a client's reaction to our work, to see them find pieces to be spectacular.” Betza’s art has allowed her to live her dream of being a mother and staying home to dedicate herself fully to her daughter while still providing for her family.“The most important thing in life is to be happy, and making these pieces makes me happy.“ Get to know Betza and her magnificent pieces!

Alberto

Alberto carries the art of traditional pedal wood loom weaving in his blood. “As children we grew up making our own toys, and we were always interested in the art.” His parents were 2 of the 4 pioneers to start this technique in their region. In 1974 Alberto’s father won second national prize for artesanias in Mexico, and his mother was even invited to an expo in Tokyo. His parents began making art in 1955, and this has lived on with Alberto who continues his work in his hometown of Mitla, Oaxaca.

Alberto remembers his father saying:“Anything is possible in this art.” He says this taught him there are no limitations to what can be done in his designs and work. He is passionate about continuing his family legacy, and has even begun teaching his grandson this weaving technique. Get to know Alberto and his stunning work!
